McGowan Residence, Pecos, NM Bonnie McGowan is the founder of the "Birds of a Feather" community in Pecos. Her home is the flagship project. The 2325 square foot main house, 460 squre foot guest house and detached garage are joined by a timber-framed breezeway. Thes elements define an entry courtyard and aviary for Bonnie's parrots. Ecological features include solar hot water heating, FSC-certified flooring, natural clay plaster finishes, extensive use of natural stone work, and hand-crafted formaldehyde-free cabinetry. The home will be featured in the January 2009 issue of Natural Home magazine.

The frame, floor plan and building sections are laid out using sacred geometry. |
